Courtney McLean is a comedic performer currently based in Los Angeles, CA.NYTheatre.com said she is “funny and endearing with a seductive twinkle in her eye” and Twin Cities’ Metromag.com said Courtney “is uproariously funny… a superb storyteller.” Her band Courtney McClean & The Dirty Curls, pioneers of naughtybilly: dirty comedy bluegrassy music, was recently crowned Minneapolis’ City Pages’ Music Artist of the Year 2014. 89.3 Current’s Local Current Blog coined The Curls “Minnesota’s most ribald bluegrass group” with the release of their debut album on Stand Up! Records, “This One’s For Dad.” Andrea Swensson was the City Pages Music Editor when she called The Dirty Curls “deliciously randy” and Lucy Michele of Field Trip, formerly Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, said on stage at the Turf Club in Saint Paul that Courtney was “the Peaches of bluegrass.” Along with being a regular guest on Minnesota my29’s “On The Fly,” a nightly entertainment local TV show, Courtney has also authored numerous stories and jokes and told them on stages coast-to-coast. She read alongside Ileana Douglas and Michael Urie in the live stage show Celebrity Autobiography. She has been heard on the radio on San Diego’s Star 100.7 FM, and Minnesota Public Radio, and Twin Cities’ KFAI and myTalk107.1, and has been a co-producer of the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minnesota. In 2011, Courtney was #52 of the City Pages 100 Creatives.
